On the morning of January 20, Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital inaugurated and put into operation a Japanese-standard dialysis center. This is the first dialysis unit in Ho Chi Minh City that uses water treated with the highest quality water treatment system, meeting Japanese standards.
Comrade Le Hoa Binh, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, attended and gave a speech.
According to Dr. Vo Duc Chien, Director of Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital, since 2016, Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital has put into operation a high-quality dialysis center to meet the needs of many patients and foreign experts coming to work, live or travel in Vietnam.
However, because the filter membrane is only used once, the cost of dialysis is quite high compared to people’s income. Faced with this reality, the hospital has cooperated with Nipro Corporation (Japan) – one of the world’s leading multinational corporations in the field of manufacturing medical supplies – especially products for dialysis, to establish a dialysis center according to Japanese standards, in which the filter membrane is reused 2-3 times.
The new center uses water treated with the most modern water treatment system in the world, of the highest quality, meeting Japanese standards, and the filter membrane can be reused 2-3 times. This still helps maintain the quality of hemodialysis at a fairly high level and the cost is more accessible.

“In recent years, the Department of Nephrology – Dialysis, Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital has always had to operate at full capacity, with nearly 250 dialysis cases/week but still could not meet the needs of patients. With the establishment of the Japanese standard dialysis center, Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital has equipped 16 more dialysis machines imported in complete units from Japan, with a capacity to serve about 100 dialysis patients/week,” said Dr. Vo Duc Chien.
Prof. Pham Van Bui, Professional Consultant of the Department of Nephrology – Dialysis, Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital, pursuing Japanese quality, one of the countries with the best dialysis quality in the world, is the desire of Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital to improve the quality of life of hemodialysis patients to be maintained at the highest possible level.
The quality of filtered water is very important for patients on long-term dialysis. If the filtered water quality is not up to standard, it can easily cause complications such as: carpal tunnel syndrome, Beta 2 Microglobuline deposition, infection, neuritis, itching, malnutrition… affecting the quality of life and life of the patient.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Hoa Binh, Vice President of the City People’s Committee, highly appreciated the efforts of Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital in constantly finding solutions to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment for people.
Comrade Le Hoa Binh hopes that the hospital will continue to develop creatively, build a modern and advanced hospital, with many facilities and specialized centers, improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, and meet the increasing needs of people, tourists, and foreign experts when they come to work, travel, and settle in the city.
